One Classy Speakeasy

Dear Friends,

Since becoming empty nesters our basement has gone dormant. We have been trying to figure out what we could use it for. It occurred to us how much we enjoy going out to small clubs listening to live music. One problem with that is staying up and motivated to go out so late (hmmm). Most of the clubs don't start the music until 9:00.

We thought the answer could be having small concerts in our home. After more thought we have decided to start the Pine Tree Lounge. We have transformed our basement into a comfortable space embracing the name Pine Tree Lounge. We have seating for approximately 60 people.

Our plan is to have a permanently invited guest list, hosting 6-8 events a year. guests bring their own beverages and we will provide a mix of entertainment, some light food, coffee, ice and glasses for wine and cocktails in a comfortable space. We want our guests to feel free to come when they can and ask that you RSVP with REGRETS only (but PLEASE do RSVP with regrets). We will be passing the hat at each event in hopes of keeping it alive and fun.

Mark your calendar Our first event is January 15, 2009 music starts at 7pm and ends at 10:30pm. We welcome you to come anytime after 6:15pm.

PLEASE RSVP with REGRETS by 1/5/09. Hope you can come. Bob and Jean

A reminder and parking info will follow closer to the date.

Check back for future dates.

This is your reminder about the Pine Tree Lounge.  Doors open at 6:15 pm and entertainment starts at 7 pm. Don't forget to bring your own beverages and mixers. We will provide wine glasses, cocktail glasses, ice, light food and live entertainment. As our first letter said, we will be passing the hat for donations. People have been asking how much? Our answer has been - consider it a night out and donate based on the amount of fun you have. If everybody has fun, maybe we will even make some money. Our hope is that it goes great and we can host 4-6 events a year with a variety of quality entertainment.
In addition to parking in our driveway, don't forget about our parking lot next door (just south of our driveway - up the hill ) with a lighted path to our house. Please remember to RSVP with regrets only. Hope to see you next Thursday.
